📅 5 October 2026 – 5.30 pm 📍 Sassari, Spazio S’Arza Teatro Instabile – Pupi di Stac presents Pinocchio… a street puppet.

Synopsis of the show Pinocchio… a street puppet

Like a modern-day urchin, Pinocchio is a child surrounded by ‘puppets’ – or rather, masks – that represent the characters he will encounter along the way. Playing and discovering life whilst navigating the web of truth and lies is what the protagonist will do as he meets Geppetto, the Talking Cricket, the Cat and the Fox, Lucignolo, and other characters who symbolise a world and a society in which life is worth living despite its hardships. And whilst he is only too happy to don the donkey’s ears, Pinocchio is just as quick to extricate himself from the most perilous situations. This new production stems from a shared desire to pay tribute once again, through the art of theatre, to Collodi’s timeless masterpiece. Two hundred years after the birth of the famous writer (Florence, 24 November 1826), the two highly experienced artists Enrico Spinelli and Aldo Sicurella blend prose and puppetry in a lively and moving production dedicated to children. In order to engage the youngest audience members, the project will take the form of a carefully adapted version of the original text, performed collaboratively by the two artists. Aldo Sicurella’s fine performance and Enrico Spinelli’s mastery will be key elements of a show that transcends all ages. Text and direction: Aldo Sicurella
