From 11 to 29 September, the Sant Miquel Festival 2026 brings together the celebrations dedicated to Saint Michael, the patron saint of Alghero.
Among the events taking place in Alghero, the festival highlights the town’s cultural identity and its deep connection with Catalan tradition.
The programme encompasses language, music and folk culture, with events dedicated to castells, gegants and the correfoc, alternating between open rehearsals and main events.
Among the events, the ‘Diada de l’aniversari – Tres anys de Mataresies’ on 12 September brings together the Manyacs de Parets and the Mataresos de l’Alguer, whilst on 19 September, the 1st Trobada Gegantera de l’Alguer is dedicated to Catalan folk culture, featuring a parade of giants, live music and dance performances.
On 28 September, ‘Sons de l’Alguer Nova’ presents a musical evening dedicated to bringing together the Alghero and Catalan scenes, featuring singer-songwriters and ensembles from Alghero and Catalonia.
