The 2026 Palio dei Comuni del Monteacuto is a regional event dedicated to the tradition of horse racing and local excellence.
In Pattada, the Palio Monteacuto brings together ten municipalities in a collective celebration of identity, belonging and participation.
The first day is devoted to equestrian competitions, featuring the Palio dell’Anglo-Arabo Sardo, reserved for horses born and bred in Sardegna.
Each municipality fields its own horse to defend the community’s colours in an invitational race that celebrates the bond between the local area and tradition.
The sporting programme also includes the Palio for local jockeys and the Palio dei Pony, designed to involve different categories of riders.
The second day takes the event to the streets of Pattada’s historic centre: here, a market exhibition dedicated to Monteacuto’s local specialities and Monteacuto’s handcrafted goods takes shape.
The exhibition showcases the culinary specialities and artisanal craftsmanship of the participating villages.
An event that brings together sport, community and the region’s productive culture.
