The Mediterranea 2026 Literary Festival returns to Alghero from 9 to 12 July with four days dedicated to the cultures, stories and landscapes of the Mediterranean.
Between Villa Mosca and the Bastioni Pigafetta, literary events, readings and concerts will weave a narrative centred on the sea and the communities that live along its shores.
The Literary Festival at Alghero will host, amongst others, Piero Dorfles, Antonio Ingroia, Iain Chambers, Cristiana di San Marzano, Nicola Verderame, Roberta Morosini and Raffaele Sari.
The sixth edition also pays tribute to Grazia Deledda, Predrag Matvejević and Rachel Carson through readings and in-depth discussions.
Music complements the programme with two concerts: the first, *Mediterranima*, by Stefano Saletti and Banda Ikona, and the second, *Sighida*, performed by Mauro Palmas and Giacomo Vardeu.
Ahead of ‘Mediterranea. Cultures, Exchanges, Passages 2026’ comes the fourth edition of the Mediterranea Summer School, scheduled for 7–9 July at the Roth Institute in Alghero.
Dedicated to the theme ‘Maps, Islands and Borders’, the Summer School offers a programme of study spanning the literature, history, geography and cartography of the Mediterranean, with lectures and workshops led by lecturers from Italian and international universities.
The Mediterranea Literary Festival in Sardegna thus celebrates books, the spoken word and music as tools for knowledge, dialogue and the cultural development of the region.
