The Feast of Our Lady of Buoncammino 2026 accompanies Sassari through some of the rituals associated with the Candeliere and the tradition of the Viandanti.
A journey that takes shape in the streets of the town and marks the days leading up to and following the Descent of the Candelieri.
The Candeliere dance opens the festivities in the district, symbolically paving the way for the Descent.
This is followed by the ritual of the Dressing of the Candeliere, the central moment of the tradition.
The events continue with the procession of the Candeliere during the Octave and conclude with the ritual of its undressing.
A succession of gestures and rituals that keeps alive the bond between devotion, community and city tradition.
