The Feast and Ardia of St Constantine 2026 returns to Pozzomaggiore with one of the most deeply felt rituals of local tradition. Every year in July, over a hundred horsemen take part in a non-competitive race of great symbolic significance.
The Ardia di San Costantino in Pozzomaggiore is a historic and devotional tribute that combines faith, identity and spectacle: the ritual celebrates Emperor Constantine’s victory over Maxentius at Ponte Milvio, an event linked to Christian religious freedom.
Alongside the horse ride, the Festival of Saint Constantine features processions, solemn masses, traditional songs and concerts.
A programme that strengthens the bond between the sacred and popular culture, at the heart of the community.

A day featuring the blessing of the horsemen and the flags, solemn Vespers, Holy Mass, rifle salutes, the Ardia and Sardinian folk music with Cordas and Cannas.

The heart of the festival really gets underway with Masses, the blessing, the Ardia, the procession with the statues of the saints, the Solemn Mass and the evening show.
